Carved once.
Kept forever.
Kivistone is a collection of beautiful pieces carved from Finnish soapstone, each one designed for house interiors, everyday use, or as a personal or corporate gift. Explore a wide selection of concepts and designs, all carved from the same enduring stone.
About Us
The Kivistone brand is owned and managed by Finns, who also own and manage SAWO Inc., a globally known sauna product manufacturer and one of the biggest names in the sauna industry.
That shared ownership is why a gift item and a sauna heater come out of the same discipline: the same soapstone sourcing, the same production floor standards, and the same certifications behind every piece we ship.

About Soapstone
Soapstone is a soft metamorphic rock, high in talc content. For centuries it has been a material of choice for artisans crafting sculptures, cooking slabs, and bowls. It's widely used for inlaid designs, artistic pieces, and heating appliances: soapstone stores heat and cold exceptionally well, which makes it well suited to drink coolers, sizzling plates, and pizza stones.
Finland is one of the world's largest suppliers of soapstone, used as a prime material in most heating masonry for fireplaces. Its use keeps evolving, most sauna heater manufacturers in Finland, like SAWO, now design electric sauna heaters with soapstone.
A scratched soapstone surface is easy to restore. Buffing it with fine-grit sandpaper brings it back to like-new condition, and wiping it with mineral oil gives it a darker, richer look.

From candle holders and dish plates to cups, coolers, aroma cups, and bathroom essentials, explore the full Kivistone range. Every piece is cut and hand-finished from the same Finnish soapstone, a stone prized for centuries for its heat resistance, durability, and natural beauty, so whichever category you choose, you're getting the same craftsmanship throughout.
Candle Holders
Fire and stone have always been an intriguing mix, one that draws us back to the Stone Age. Brought together in a Kivistone candle holder, these two natural elements create a harmonious, hand-carved piece from genuine Finnish soapstone. Whether the occasion is formal or festive, a Kivistone candle holder stands out, filling its surroundings with a warm and cozy glow.

Dish Plates
Soapstone is a natural conductor of heat, so it withstands high temperatures without cracking or warping. As a completely natural material, it emits no harmful chemicals and never changes the taste of the food heated above it, making Kivistone dish plates perfect for sizzling plates and serving hot dishes straight from the oven or grill. Choose a stone plate on its own, or paired with a wooden tray in cedar, aspen, or hemlock.

Cups
For a cool drink after sauna, Kivistone stone cups, glasses, and shot glasses are cut from a single block of soapstone. The stone’s natural mass holds onto cold far longer than glass or ceramic, so whatever you pour stays refreshingly chilled to the last sip.

Coolers
Nordic-style coolers built for strong cold retention, recommended for cooling down after the sauna. Soapstone is naturally non-porous, so it holds and preserves liquids cleanly without absorbing odors or flavors. Chilled in the fridge, a Kivistone cooler holds the cold and keeps a bottle, can, or shot glass resting on it refreshingly cool for hours, ideal for wine, spirits, and canned drinks alike.

Aroma Cups
Enjoy the relaxing, vitalizing effect of aromatic oils with a Kivistone aroma cup or scent warmer. Place an aroma cup on the sauna heater’s stones for happy sauna spirits, or set a table warmer over a tealight, a candle holder with a basin where scented oils evaporate slowly, filling the room with fragrance rather than burning it off. Aroma oils are available on request as a separate order.

Bathroom Essentials
Soapstone’s natural properties are just as useful outside the sauna room. A Kivistone spa stones set has a high thermal mass that absorbs heat and releases it slowly, perfect for a hot stone treatment, while a Kivistone soap holder is heavy, non-porous, and stays put on a wet counter. Every piece is cut and hand-finished from the same Finnish soapstone as the rest of the collection.
